The sun was peering over the trees and I shivered a little at the wind chill. For a while I had been watching the mist trace patterns across the surface of the lake, with no apparent method. I sat motionless becoming immersed in its formless swirling. Time stood still and a quiet expanse filled the morning air; only the sun shifting shadows disclosed that the world was moving.
I waited in the cold for a while until the the wind suddenly blew the mist over the embankment. It vanished leaving the water as serene as the space inside me. My breath slowed and the scene lent a majesty which lasted for the rest of time. The reflection was pristine and mirrored the sky and the fiery fall colours. It was a perfect duplicate revealing another world within the lake. In that moment I looked into the reflection. I understood the meditative gift that pausing to reflect has, opening one to an ocean of wisdom. Yet I felt I wanted to go deeper, delving beyond what is simply mirrored to me. I was inside and outside myself as I traveled beyond the story. I saw that sometimes reflections can be multilayered. They can reflect images and energy that does not originate from you, rather from the collective consciousness. I saw a face, still and peaceful, yet around her I saw an assortment of complex and obscure energy. It was a conglomerate of thoughts, emotions, projections and visions.... yet, her face was clear and tranquil. My vision showed me the mist represented the swirling disarray of obscure energy, the lake the placid calm of connection to source and the Universe. The wind acted gracefully allowing what could be perceived as chaos - the mist - to dance to it’s own tune without forcing or attachment to it’s presence. The mist simply existed, yet it was in the process of transforming. The breeze assisted in shifting the energy with ease. The presence of serenity and flow was always constant, no matter what else was occurring. The lake reminded me to always allow the natural currents of life to ebb and flow like the ocean, and that all forces have their place in the Universe. Resisting will only cause them to persist. To give ourselves permission to do exactly this, opens us to an unwavering happiness." Namaste. ~ by Laura Naomi Lauranaomilight on Blogger
